Lancs woman who swapped going on tour with Westlife for engineering career
An apprentice is hoping to encourage other women to get into a trade by sharing her unusual career path.
Katie attended Southport College alongside her apprenticeship and has been working as a gas engineer for the last 18 months. She has said she would love more women in the industry and is actively encouraging more to take up a trade. However, Katie has admitted that there is a downside to her chosen career as a woman - the lack of workwear that's available for females.
