“This has allowed the council, through the company, to provide homes for many tenants and give them a chance to get their foot on the property ladder. But what we really need is a strong and vibrant housing sector whether that be in the private rental market or as part of a council tenancy. “We need a strong and vibrant long term private rental market in the North West. This is vital for those who rely on the flexibility it provides, as well as the help it provides to those who need somewhere to live before becoming homeowners.
