A Laois mother has opened up about her son’s three year battle with cancer, which involved gruelling chemotherapy and many hospital visits.

“If we were to try and go on a normal weekend away, we would need to choose somewhere close to a hospital for Cathail, and we need to make sure John and Patrick are comfortable too. It just isn’t workable.” “At Barretstown we were able to spend so much time with him, and the Caras really made a fuss of him too.”
She says it was wonderful for the family to be able to go on a little break together. In Barretstown, the dedicated medical team onsite takes care of everything. “There’s no stress. The staff go above and beyond every time. Nothing is ever a problem, there’s a number you can call for help during the night if any of the kids need medical help.”
