A young man has been taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre
A young man was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre with injuries which are not currently believed to be life-threatening, the force said. A large police presence will be in the area while detectives are carrying out work to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
The 33-year-old added: "This is a massive cordon and I live at the top of the road. It is annoying because I am tired, and I have to wake up early tomorrow for work and I cannot walk home this way. James Turton, a dad of three who lives in the area, said: "I saw an ambulance earlier today, but I did not think anything of it. I think police cordoned off the area at around 5pm.
Simeon Owens, 25, who previously lived in St Ann's but moved to to Top Valley, said: "It is a massive cordon. I think I can get the other way around it but it is not ideal.
