The Adare man had to sit out the latter stages of last year's Championship with a knee injury
Declan Hannon may have five All-Ireland medals, but last year’s isn’t quite as weighty as the other four.
“I don’t know, it’s a funny one. It’s probably one you are just given, not one you earned, is how I would put it for myself.” “In Limerick, it’s always been about the panel of players. Like, I wasn’t the first person to miss an All-Ireland final. The previous year, Cian Lynch missed it and last year I wasn’t on my own, there was Seánie Finn and Richie English and Jim Quilty weren’t involved either.
“There were obviously great celebrations and mentally maybe I wasn't ready for the All-Ireland semi-final, the occasion and everything like that. Obviously I had never experienced it before and it went really badly for myself. “Looking back, what a game as well. It went to extra-time, I think Shane Dowling and Pat Ryan got a couple of goals in extra-time, which just saw us over the line and things kind of snowballed from there.
