Dr Saleyha Ahsan and her family with her father Ahsan ul-Haq Chaudry, who died of Covid in December 2020 The children of people who died in the early days of the pandemic have said the testimonies of former No 10 aides Dominic Cummings and Lee Cain to the Covid inquiry left them feeling “nauseous”.
Dr Saleyha Ahsan, an emergency medicine doctor, lost her 81-year-old father Ahsan ul-Haq Chaudry to Covid over Christmas in 2020. Mr Chaudry had been shielding during the pandemic but caught Covid in December either from his carer or during a hospital visit, Dr Ahsan said. Click here to read Jason Arunn Murugesu's full report.
