She has stated her intention to race the World Indoors in 2024, also in Glasgow.and Olympic medallist, Laura Muir, has confirmed her intention to race on home soil when the World Indoor Championships come to Glasgow in March of next year.

Despite the majority of her silverware being in the shorter distance of 1500m, Muir is no stranger to success in the 3000m having twice won European Indoor gold at the distance in 2017 and 2019, with the latter having been won at Glasgow’s Emirates Arena, where the 2024 World Indoors will also take place.

“I am delighted to confirm that racing at the World Indoor Championships held in Glasgow in March is in my plans,' said Muir, who is now based in Loughborough having started working with new coach, Steve Vernon earlier this year. “But after thinking it through, me and my coach felt that Glasgow 2024 was too good an opportunity to miss.“It is a home championships once again and I like nothing better than racing in front of a packed Scottish crowd at the Emirates Arena.
