For our honeymoon, we travelled through Thailand and Vietnam and that was the last big road trip for quite a while because then babies came along and with regards to logistics and finances, it became much more difficult to chase our passion for travelling. "But in the last couple of years, we have felt more freedom because our boys are at a really good age now where they enjoy travelling to other cities and exploring. I would hope to instil a love of travel in them." She opened up about some of the standout locations she has been, including a luxury spa resort in Switzerland. "There’s some places that I frequent a lot and return to year after year, and others that I’ve only been to once and they’ve left a lasting impression," she explained. "Therme Vals Spa in Switzerland would be the latter; it was a place that my husband had always wanted to go to because it was designed by a renowned architect, Peter Zumthor. I had never been or even heard of it, but when our son was born it was our first trip away without him. Because it was a spa and wellness resort and I was exhausted due to lack of sleep and having a new baby, it was the best place possible to unwind and relax for a few days. "It’s an unusual place and it’s very special. It’s at a natural spring deep in the Alps and it has a variety of hot pools, cold plunge pools, swimming pools – there was even a pool full of flowers that you could swim through! I would recommend it to people if they’re looking for something out of the ordinary." She continued: "Another place abroad that I loved, and would love to go back to in the next couple of years, was a family holiday we took to Lake Garda in Italy a couple of years ago. We stayed in Du Lac et Du Parc Grand Resort in Riva, on the recommendation of good friends who had been back again and again and it was just spectacular. I couldn’t get over the exceptional quality of the food in the area and also the price, because a lot of people would associate Lake Garda with being very expensive but actually we got great value for money in all the restaurants we went to. The kids adored the hotel and it was so safe. " Laura admitted she has been lucky when it comes to travelling as she has had no major disasters, but did mention that on her honeymoon she and husband Mark were confined to their hotel due to a serious typhoon. "I do a lot of research and I find the more you research something the better the experience you’ll have," she said. "Of course there’s always things you can’t control – on my honeymoon in Vietnam we got caught in Typhoon Ketsana and we were confined to the hotel while the flood was happening all around us. As you can imagine, that was an unforgettable experience for all the wrong reasons!"
