For more than a decade, Engelbrecht, an election-fraud crusader, has sown doubts about ballots and voting.Two members of a Houston-based conservative nonprofit have been jailed for refusing to disclose the name of a man they say is a confidential FBI informant who was present when its workers were viewing election data taken from a software company.
Konnech Inc. denied the allegations and filed a defamation suit against True the Vote on Sept. 12, accusing the organization of stealing the data and running a smear campaign against the company. True the Vote has repeatedly claimed that the organization has proof of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election but has yet to release such evidence.Houston voting nonprofit claims role as FBI informants who spurred investigation into software company Konnech IncEngelbrecht and Phillips testified in court last week that identifying the unnamed FBI informant would put his life at risk.
“Trust, honesty, and respect will always be our highest values, regarding both our work and our lives,” Englebrecht said. “As a result, we will be held in jail until we agree to give up the name of a person we believe was not covered under the terms of the judge’s TRO. We ask that you keep us in your prayers.”
