SSE Airtricity have been sponsoring the League of Ireland for the past 14 years
The energy giants will remain the principal partner of all three senior divisions.
The deal will lead to a range of programmes focusing on promoting sustainability, inclusion and diversity within the sport.League of Ireland players will be supported off the pitch with personal and professional development opportunities. According to a statement from the League: “These programmes will build on SSE Airtricity and League of Ireland’s initiatives to date including securing additional broadcasting, the LGBT Football Takeover which helped to create greater awareness for LGBTQ+ inclusivity in football, as well as a range of sustainability-based content and accreditations to improve the environmental sustainability of clubs and the wider community.
