A huge Microsoft leak has revealed what the company is planning for its next-generation Xbox console, which supposedly will release in 2028.
, further documents released as part of the FTC-Microsoft trial that appear to have been improperly redacted, have detailed Microsoft's plans for its next console.
A slide in the document dated May 2022 lays out Microsoft's vision for the"next generation of gaming at Microsoft. The company wants to"develop a next-generation hybrid game platform" that is capable of"leveraging the combined power of the client and cloud to deliver deeper immersion and entirely new classes of game experiences." According to Microsoft, this new platform"will enable new levels of performance beyond the capabilities of the client hardware alone.
The document describes the new console as an"immersive game and app platform" that will support"Cloud hybrid games." The company also expects the new console to launch in 2028. A further slide reveals a timeline, where Microsoft expects its first dev kits for the console to be in developer's hands in 2027, a year before it launches.
