, the third in collaboration with his younger brother Andrew. The idea is that they write Reacher together for four transitional books, and then Andrew will take over entirely, a seamless exchange.
When we speak, the senior Child, now 68, is at home at his brother’s house in Wyoming, but the leather chair to his right remains empty. He explains that Andrew is elsewhere in the house, doing another interview. He was born in Coventry in 1954, and spent the first part of his working life in television, specifically as a producer for Granada, before being let go at 40, which sent him back out into the world wondering quite what he was supposed to do next.
