Music lover and Nottinghamshire Live reporter Joe Connolly said he was left 'in shock' by the ordeal
Festival-goers at Leeds Festival were left fearing for their tents as Storm Lilian brought 60mph winds sweeping through the site. Nottinghamshire Live reporter Joe Connolly and his friend Josh Sandiford spent Thursday night listening to the howling gales, concerned that their £40 tent from Decathlon might be carried off by the wind.
"I just don't know what they are going to do about the Radio 1 stage because there are all these artists, some of whom have probably flown in from America, and they are going to have pay them either way, and I don't know where they are going to put them." The cancellation has left many of the festival's tens of thousands of attendees disappointed. Josh, from Birmingham, was particularly excited to see Templeman, known for his songs 'Happiness in Liquid Form' and 'Obvious Guy'.
A yellow wind warning was in effect across northern England and north Wales until 11am on Friday, as the storm brought gusts of approximately 50-60mph to the area. Performances have been taking place as normal today .
