Centre-back Warren O'Hora leaves Hibernian after 85 appearances to join Leicester City, with the Scottish club describing the move as life-changing for the 27-year-old Dubliner

Irish defender Warren O'Hora has completed a transfer to Leicester City from Scottish Premiership side Hibernian in a move that the Edinburgh club has described as life-changing for the player and his family.

The 27-year-old centre-back has agreed a three-year deal at the King Power Stadium, though the transfer remains subject to international clearance before he can be formally registered with his new club. O'Hora becomes Leicester's latest summer addition as the club continues to strengthen its defensive options ahead of the new campaign. O'Hora began his professional career at Bohemians, coming through the Dublin club's academy and making his senior debut at the age of 18.

His performances in the League of Ireland attracted interest from across the water, and in January 2018 he secured a move to Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion. Opportunities at the Amex Stadium proved limited, leading to a loan spell at MK Dons in August 2020, where he gained valuable experience in the English Football League.

He later returned to the British Isles permanently when he joined Hibernian in the summer of 2024, going on to make 85 appearances for the Easter Road club, captaining the side on several occasions and contributing three goals during his time in green and white. Hibernian head coach David Gray paid tribute to the departing defender following the announcement, acknowledging the significance of the opportunity for the player and his young family.

Gray said the club was sad to see O'Hora go but fully understood the scale of the move, wishing him well for the next chapter of his career. Speaking to the Leicester City club website after completing his switch, O'Hora expressed his excitement at joining a club he described as massive with big ambitions.

He said he was ready for the challenge ahead and looked forward to meeting his new teammates, getting on the pitch and playing in front of the supporters at the King Power Stadium
