The programme is jointly run by Spirit Health, University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, and Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.Andrew Stafford, 75, was offered the chance to use the scheme after he was admitted to Glenfield Hospital with pneumonia and sepsis.
He said: "I was only in hospital for five days and the last couple of days all they were doing was the nurses were coming around and taking your stats and feeding you and giving you water.Children, pregnant women and those that do not understand English are not eligible for the scheme.
