'I found a bit of form again and when you get the call from Faz and you look down at your phone it’s not a nice feeling because you know what’s coming'
Jordan Larmour has revealed his heartbreak at missing out on Ireland's squad for France 2023 - and his determination to play in Australia '27.
At 26, Larmour was the second oldest Leinster starter on the pitch and, with a heap of experience banked, had hoped his displays last season would earn him another chance under Andy Farrell. “I’ve gone through it before, dealing with disappointment. I’m not going to say you get used to it but you don’t beat yourself up as much or get ratty and take it out on people.Injuries have played their part in Larmour's lack of progress at Test level and he now takes on a daily 45 minute warm-up routine before training, having examined the areas where he needed to strengthen his body.
"That starts here with Leinster. You have to be playing well and you have to be putting your hand up. It’s a big season ahead and one I’m looking forward to.
