Restauranteurs want the State to pay for the tests.
Leo Varadkar wants pubs and restaurants to carry out antigen tests on their young unvaccinated staff up to twice a week.
Mr Varadkar said: “One thing we are saying though to employers is that employers should consider the use of antigen testing of staff. Adrian Cummins, chief executive of the Restaurants Association of Ireland , said: “if the Government is looking for restaurants to antigen test staff - the State must pay for.”
