Former Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said that while it is a “big jump” for Jack Chambers to take over such a significant role, the Fianna Fáil deputy leader is “up for the job”
Leo Varadkar has predicted that new Finance Minister Jack Chambers may be the “next gay Taoiseach in waiting”.

Of course, he is a member of the LGBT community and maybe the next gay Taoiseach in waiting. Who knows?”

Fianna Fáil MEPs all vowed that they would not vote for Ms von der Leyen in the run-up to the European elections. However, the Tánaiste said earlier this week that she was the Government’s choice for the presidency.
