Outgoing Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said he wishes his Fine Gael rival Kate O’Connell “nothing but the best in her life”.
.She did not run in the 2021 by-election in her constituency as she said she felt she was not wanted by some factions within the party.Asked about Ms O’Connell’s most recent comments at the Fine Gael Ard Fheis on Saturday, Mr Varadkar said: “I wish only the best to Kate O’Connell in the rest of her life.”
He continued: “But you know, I'm not leaving Fine Gael. I'm very committed to the party. It's my second family.
