Huntsman is one of the founders of No Labels, a group formed to “combat partisan dysfunction in politics.” Sen. Lee is the poster child for partisan political dysfunction. Even aside from his shameful, if brief, participation in former President Trump’s ludicrous and dangerous “fake elector” scheme in an attempt to retain power at all costs following his 2020 election loss, Sen.
I venture to say that if Senate Democrats put forth a resolution confirming Wednesday is the day that precedes Thursday, Lee would, on reflex rather than reason, find a way to vote against it. It is telling that our other senator, Mitt Romney, has not endorsed either candidate and is letting the voters decide.
Huntsman’s appearance in the commercial for Mike Lee, just two weeks before the election in what appears could be a close race, serves only to further the toxic partisan political dysfunction in Washington he rightly professes to oppose.
