In New Jersey, we must ensure that all LGBTQ individuals celebrate this year, instead of some celebrating while others continue to protest.

This Pride Month there is much to celebrate in the LGBTQ community. Marriage equality is law of the land, and in New Jersey, the LGBTQ community has won additional legislative efforts, including a recent mandate ensuring LGBTQ-inclusive statewide public education. But many challenges remain.In the early years after the Stonewall Uprising, Pride marches began as a way to honor a commitment to freedom and justice for LGBTQ people.
