In the wake of Liam Payne 's tragic death in October, the singer's friend Roger Nores was in such a state of 'shock' he made a disturbing comment about his disbelief over the incident. The One Direction star died at the age of 31 after falling from a third-floor balcony at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16. On Monday (December 30), it was confirmed that five people have been charged in connection with the star's death, including Nores himself.
Members of the CasaSur Palermo hotel crew, including chief receptionist Esteban Grassi and head of security Gilda Martin, are also facing manslaughter charges. 35-year-old Argentine multi-millionaire Nores, who hit it off with Liam back in 2020 after they crossed paths at a Vogue event in London, was with Liam on the day he died but has consistently maintained his innocence. Speaking out last month, Nores expressed: 'I never abandoned Liam, I went to his hotel three times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened.' He added, 'There were over 15 people at the hotel lobby chatting and joking with him when I left. I could have never imagined something like this would happen... I'm really heart-broken with this tragedy, and I've been missing my friend every day.' This week, Fred Kelly, a reporter for MailOnline, wrote that he had a sit-down with Nores at a cafe shortly after Liam's death and his words were nothing short of chilling, reports the Mirror. Fred revealed: 'The most shocking charge is the one brought against Payne's friend and confidant Roger Nores, a man I got to know well back in November.
