The casualty was handed to the care of police
Emergency crews were scrambled in the early hours of this morning following an incident at Blackpool North Pier.
On arrival, crews found a casualty had fallen onto part of the beach not covered by the sea wall. They were helped back onto the promenade before being handed to North West Ambulance Service. A spokesperson for the RNLI said: "Blackpool RNLI volunteer crew were paged at 3.03am in response to a report of a person in the water near North Pier. Both D Class inshore lifeboats, Blackpool Endeavour and Phyllis Rowan were launched and it transpired the casualty had fallen off the sea wall onto part of the beach not covered by the outgoing tide.
