Hornets' Roderick Robinson ties San Diego Section record with eight rushing touchdowns against Mater Dei
Lincoln High running back Roderick Robinson II tied a San Diego Section record, scoring eight touchdowns in the Hornets’ 56-20 win over Mater Dei on Saturday night.
Robinson carried 32 times for 476 yards. While the outdated San Diego Section record book lists the record for most yards rushing in a game as 436 by Mt. Carmel’s Ken James in 2009, the actual mark is 499 yards set by RBV’s Richardson in 2017. Tweeted @briancrusoe “The best running back in the county resides at 477 Imperial Ave San Diego Ca. We aren’t even talking about it anymore. ... If it ain’t @rob204 I don’t wanna hear it.”
In four games, Robinson has rushed for 1,027 yards on 71 carries, a 14.5-yards per-carry average. He has scored 15 touchdowns.
