It may be too early to start blasting Three Lions, but football is well on its way back home thanks to England's Lionesses.
A second shot saw Georgia score the goal to rapturous cheering from the crowd – some of who have made the 24-hour journey to the tournament in Australia from England. Fans of team – who won the UEFA Women's Euro tournament last year – took to Twitter to celebrate following Georgia's goal."Two high powered teams, the football, penalties, it’s all so exhilarating, congratulations Stanway for our first goal."Famous faces were also willing the team on, with the Spice Girls tweeting: "Good luck to our @Lionesses in their opening game of the #FIFAWWC We are all behind you #GirlPower.
