Fashion and beauty entrepreneur Lisa Jordan found her dream home, a house she describes as 'really about family.' The abandoned property held an irresistible connection to her past and sparked a sense of belonging.

When Lisa Jordan walked into her dream home, it had been left abandoned for years — holes were in the ceiling and it had started to fall into a derelict state. However, the fashion and beauty entrepreneur could see past the neglect and immediately felt a sense of family.

“We bought this home with our hearts more so than anything else,” explains Lisa as she tries to describe that indescribable feeling of ‘home’ — something she had been searching for since she moved out of her beloved family house built by her mother and late father. “I loved my family home so much and I was always in awe of my dad for building it, and for my parents for creating such a lovely place to live in. It was near my mum’s house in Cork, it was beside a wooded area and it was lovely, we made great memories there. But I knew going in the door it was not my forever home. It was my home to get on the property ladder... that was the way things were back then. What year was that? That was in 2011. But we loved that home and it was perfect for me and my husband and a potential family. I have a great grá for that hous
