Police have stopped all traffic
All traffic is being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to vehicle fire on A1 Northbound
All traffic is being held by police on the northbound carriageway of the A1 motorway after a serious lorry fire. Around 7.22pm on Monday, January 9, National Highways reported traffic was stopped between junction 44 at Leeds and York to junction 45 at Wetherby and Boston Spa. West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service crews are currently at the scene.
The fire service have requested full closure of the carriageway while they deal with the incident. In a traffic report from Inrix around 7.31pm it was confirmed: "All traffic being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to vehicle fire on A1 Northbound before J45 A659 Wattlesyke ."We will bring you the latst updates on this developing situation in our live blog, which will load below.
