Latest as a huge fire breaks out at Leeds City College
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service at the Leeds City College Printworks Campus where a fire broke out in the aerly hours of this morning
Multiple crews of firefighters are this morning battling a blaze at the Printworks Campus site of Leeds City College on Hunslet Road. The public are advised to avoid the area.website said the incident was ongoing. The alarm was first raised just after midnight on Wednesday morning when a fire alarm was activated.
A blaze was located in the plant room and crews from Hunslet, Killingbeck, Leeds, Rothwell, Morley, Moortown, Stanningley, Featherstone and Ossett fire stations rushed to the scene.A welfare unit from Ilkley, hose layer and support from Mirfield, and drone team are also in attendance. There are eight pumps fighting the fire, along with one aerial platforma.
Positive pressure ventilation is in operation, with four breathing apparatus being used. West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service fire investigation officers are at the scene. More updates when we get them.
