A yellow weather warning for heavy rain over Northern Ireland is in place until 10am today
In a statement issued through NI Road Policing and Safety , a spokesperson said: "Motorists are advised that the Upper Newtownards Road in east Belfast is currently closed in both directions following a road traffic collision. Local diversions are in place."
Meanwhile, motorists are also advised to reduce speed and drive with extra caution given this morning's wet road conditions. Heavy overnight rain has resulted in surface water and flooding of roads in many areas.
