Winds of up to 70mph will hit northern parts of the UK., but in most areas, it is likely that winds will reach between 50 and 60mph. A Met Office spokesperson said: "There is a chance of a deep low pressure system bringing gusts of 60 to 70 mph to some northern parts of England and Wales, and southern Scotland on Wednesday.
"Should this develop disruption would be expected. However, the most likely scenario is for gusts of 50 to 60 mph, most likely areas adjacent to the northern Irish Sea, parts of southeastern Scotland and high ground within the area which may bring some localised disruption. "In addition, heavy rain may prove an additional hazard particularly over southwest Scotland and northwest England."
