Liz Truss has now abandoned 45 per cent of the tax cuts announced in mini-budget - latest
Labour’s shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves told reporters in Leeds:
According to the Resolution Foundation, the PM has now abandoned 45 per cent of the tax cuts announced in the September mini-budget."The last two weeks have seen the announcement and unravelling of the worst unforced error in British economic policy making for generations. The PM today got rid of her chancellor and has junked almost half of her tax cuts.
Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said Liz Truss should resign to restore “economic stability” to the UK.“The best thing Liz Truss could do for economic stability now is resign. Her decisions have crashed the economy and heaped misery on people already struggling with a cost of living crisis. The only decent thing for Tory MPs to do now is call time on her and allow an election.
