A murder investigation is underway following the death of a man in south Manchester. Part of Plymouth Grove,Police were called out to a property on the street at around 4.30am yesterday following a report of concern for the welfare of a man. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Detective Inspector Louise Edwards, of GMP's Major Incident Team, said: "A murder investigation has been launched this morning and we are currently trying to establish the circumstances that very tragically led to this man's death."This is being treated as an isolated incident with no wider threat to the public and we currently have one man in custody for questioning.
"If you have any concerns please speak to one of our uniformed officers who will be patrolling the nearby areas. Anyone who may have information relating to this incident is asked to contact police as soon as possible."
