6 million digital banking logins across its website and mobile apps during the festive season. Tracking customer behaviour from December 14 to 24, the bank recorded a higher login rate than any other peak holiday or shopping period. The 2024 figure was an increase of 4 per cent compared to December 2023. And while digital banking and contactless payments increased, the number of ATM transactions fell 12 per cent in December 2024 compared to the same period last year. The Commission has conducted several investigations into U.S. tech giants under the Digital Markets Act and Digital Services Act, designed to ensure large platforms comply with market rules and take action against illegal content. The number of new hybrid cars licensed in 2024 rose by a quarter (25 per cent) when compared with the same period in 2023 (25,270 vs 20,270). This has driven up the share of hybrids among new private cars from 17 per cent to 22 per cent in 2024. 11.33 - Europe stocks, Wall St futures climb as US inflation data awaited European stocks and US futures rose today as a sell-off in bond markets moderated, although investors remained cautious ahead of US inflation data on Wednesday and the start of US president-elect Donald Trump's second term in office next week. Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.7 per cent in the European session after the index dropped on Monday. S&P 500 futures were 0.51 per cent firmer. Reuters has more 11.17 - Elgin acquires solar and storage projects from UK-based Foresight Group Elgin, a solar and energy storage company, has announced the acquisition of solar and battery storage assets in the UK. Elgin has acquired a 318 megawatt (MW) portfolio of solar and storage assets located across six sites in the UK from a fund managed by Foresight Group. Solar assets are the physical components of a solar energy system, including solar panels, inverters, and associated electrical equipment while storage assets are technologies that can be paired with these components to control the discharge of energy. Emma Hanrahan reports 11.00 - Hostelworld revenues dip as backpackers flock to low-cost destinations Hostelworld, the hostel-booking group that targets millennial and Gen-Z backpackers, saw its revenues dip 1 per cent to €92 million as customer demand shifted towards low-cost destinations. Net bookings grew 6 per cent on the year to 6.9 million, driven by record performances in Asia and Central America, the Dublin-based company said in a trading statement on Tuesday.
