Liverpool winger Fabio Carvalho will join Premier League rivals Brentford after £27.5m deal agreed
Liverpool have agreed to sell Fabio Carvalho to Premier League rivals Brentford as new head coach Arne Slot continues to shape his squad. Carvalho will move to the capital after the Reds accepted an offer which could eventually be worth £27.5million inclusive of add-ons. The deal also includes a sell-on clause of 17.5%. Liverpool bought Carvalho from Fulham for an initial £5m in 2022, with the Cottagers now due 20% of the profit made on his sale due to a clause in the agreement.
However, the Portuguese had made clear during the summer his preference of playing as a number 10 and indicated he was open to a move away from Liverpool, who were not willing to allow the player to go out on loan again. Carvalho scored three goals in 21 appearances for Liverpool since being signed two years ago but last started a Premier League game way back in October 2022.
