The two Speke locations were built in 2019 and faced being shut down a year later
Liverpool Council is to take over two care homes it built for millions of pounds after a second operator pulled out of managing the sites.
The city council has confirmed that Bloomcare, which took over the homes when they were threatened with closure in 2021, had indicated it no longer wishes to run the homes and has given notice to end its contract. The firm operates a further two locations in Anfield as well as homes in Southport and Manchester.
Care staff will be able to transfer to the council and talks with the relevant trade unions will now start.
