Liverpool have completed the acquisition of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain for a base fee of 123 million euros with potential add ons. The 23 year old signs a long term contract, aims to win the Premier League and adds a proven goal scorer to Jurgen Klopp's squad.
Liverpool have sealed the signing of French forward Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal reported to be worth a base fee of 123 million euros with a further 20 million euros in potential performance related add ons.
The 23 year old international has committed to a long term contract at Anfield and expressed his enthusiasm for the move in a statement posted on the club website. He said that after a lengthy negotiation period he is delighted to join Liverpool and that his only focus now is to get on the pitch and contribute to the team.
The player also outlined his ambition to win the Premier League, describing it as one of the biggest dreams of his life and emphasising his intention to stay with the club for an extended period. Barcola arrives at Liverpool having spent the previous three seasons with PSG, a side that captured back to back Champions League titles during his tenure.
The French champions initially set a price tag of 170 million euros for the winger but Liverpool were able to break the deadlock in talks last week, eventually agreeing on the 123 million euro figure. The player moved from Lyon to Paris in a 45 million euro transfer in the summer of 2023 and has built an impressive record in France. He recorded 39 goals in 152 appearances for the Parisians and helped them secure three consecutive Ligue 1 crowns.
His performances at club level earned him a place in the France national team, where he made his senior debut in June 2024. Since his debut Barcola has found the net six times in 28 matches for Les Bleus, including three goals at the most recent World Cup where France finished in fourth place. The winger's arrival is seen as a major boost for Jurgen Klopp's attacking options ahead of the new season.
Liverpool identified Barcola as their top target throughout the summer and the completion of the transfer signals the club's intent to reinforce the squad after a period of heavy spending. The contract length has not been disclosed in detail, but the player highlighted his desire to be part of a long term project and to contribute to Liverpool winning major trophies.
The signing also reflects the broader trend of English clubs investing heavily in young talent from the continent in order to maintain competitiveness both domestically and in Europe
