GOP Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming on Thursday evening issued members of her party a stark warning over their continued support of former President Donald Trump.

"I say this to my Republican colleagues who are defending the indefensible: there will come a day when Donald Trump is gone, but your dishonor will remain," Cheney, vice chair of the House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot, said during the panel's first hearing.by fellow Republicans over her criticism of Trump in the aftermath of the Capitol attack.
Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, is among just a handful of high-profile Republicans who have repeatedly spoken out against Trump since he left office. She is also one of just two Republicans, along with Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, who sits on the nine-member January 6 panel.
