The massive GAA fan was diagnosed in March with an extremely rare cancer which is exceptionally difficult to treat

A local community in Co Derry has come together to raise over €155,000 in two days to support a young boy who is currently battling a brain tumour.

A few days after undergoing surgery, Tony and his family received the news that his brain tumour was a grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme: an extremely rare cancer in children and exceptionally difficult to treat. Tony's family and friends have launched a GoFundMe page in the hopes of raising money for alternative treatments for the youngster which could help alleviate symptoms and slow down his disease.

"Tony’s parents, Mary and Darren Fitzpatrick have been a pillar of strength for Tony throughout his Cancer journey, where they have had to take sabbaticals from their work to care for Tony. They have worked hard to keep family life as normal as possible for Tony and his two sisters, as they navigate this Goliath fight with an aggressive Brain Tumor. They are trying to make every second of everyday count and to do everything to help Tony.
