"This is a survey of a small constituency of San Franciscans. And overall, I feel like their sentiments are consistent with what most people are feeling in this city. I'm personally feeling myself," Breed said."I am also equally frustrated as to our ability to get things done, be able to hire people in a timely matter. It's extremely frustrating but it does not mean that we give up.
The poll broke down the mayor's approval ratings by ethnicity, age and income level. According to those figures, Breed saw the most support from Black residents, those ages 65 and over and those making more than $200,000 a year, respectively. She was most unpopular with mixed-race residents, those between the ages of 50 and 64, and those making between $100,000 and $200,000 per year.
Despite the concerns about Breed's performance, the poll also showed that the she had a higher favorability rating than the city's other big institutions, including the police department, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and the San Francisco School Board. Only 18% of respondents thought the police department had done an"excellent" or"good" job in making San Francisco a better place to work and live.
