The property was put up as security for a €5.6 million loan taken out by his London film company in 2023. A receiver was appointed over Castelhyde due to a dispute over loan repayment. Michael Flatley maintains that all loan repayments have been made in full by the film company.

He argues that the appointment of a receiver is injuring his personal and property rights, as Castelhyde is his home in Ireland
