There are long queues on the M1 this evening as crews deal with a lorry fire. Smoke can be seen billowing into the sky between junction 28 and 29 on Friday evening, September 15.

Three of four lanes are closed as a result of the incident, according to National Highways. There is already two miles of congestion as a result of the fire with delays expected for motorists.said: "3 lanes are closed on the #M1 northbound in #Derbyshire between J28 and J29 due to a lorry fire. Derbyshire Fire and Rescue are in attendance. There's already 2 miles of congestion on approach. More information to follow shortly.
