Losses at GAN, Dermot Smurfit junior’s online gaming company, leapt to $197.5 million in 2022 from $30.6 million in 2021, new accounts show

The loss was mostly driven by a sizeable goodwill impairment — that is, a write-down on the value of its business and its assets— after the acquisition of rival company Coolbet, the company said in its annual report.
