The items on McDonald's menu constantly shift depending on the season, region or general demand. Apart from a number of permanent fixtures that stand the test of time and location, what you order today could be gone tomorrow.

According to Wales Online, The McRib was last available on UK menus in 2015 when it launched as a limited edition item for just five weeks after a 12-year hiatus. However, it doesn't look there are plans to bring it back to the UK, and for good reason. Despite begging customers, celeb/influencer requests and even a Change.org petition demanding their return, McDonald's Ireland have repeatedly stated on Twitter that there's no plan to bring back twisty fries anytime soon. Sigh...

The tongue-in-cheek statement read: "It is with love and deep respect for one another that we announce we are parting ways with breakfast bagels and breakfast wraps," adding: "We want our fans to know this is a mutual decision, to the extent that a bagel can make its own decision." In April 2020, McDonald's delighted fans by selling dipping pots of the iconic sauce for a limited run at its restaurants in Ireland and the UK. Though other countries like Canada and Australia have gotten the opportunity to buy a bottled version of the sauce at supermarkets, over here it was a 50ml pot only available for a six-week period. Needless to say there was enough demand that they could easily bring it back as a full-time condiment option like their BBQ, curry and other sauces.

Sundaes A dessert menu favourite, ice cream sundaes are one of the most-requested items when it comes to what customers in the UK and Ireland want brought back to McDonald's restaurants. As much as everyone loves a McFlurry, the scrapping of sundaes was not a welcomed decision.
