New Jersey had the third-largest percentage increase in the number of truck drivers of the 50 states.
There are 3,200 more drivers hauling cargo and delivering goods who hail from New Jersey in 2022 than 2021, according to new data.
Gail Toth, executive director of the New Jersey Motor Truck Association, said the increase could be a byproduct of the pandemic-related shutdowns, when the state’s motor vehicle department and truck driving schools were closed.
