SLIDELL, Louisiana — The headmaster of a school who also is a pastor is facing criminal charges after police say he put tape over the mouths of multiple students because they were talking in class.
Police say Raymond, who his headmaster of Lakeside Christian School in Slidell, became angry when several students were removed from a class because of excessive talking. The students were taken to Raymond’s office, where he took a roll of packing tape and covered their mouths by wrapping it around their heads, police say., Raymond denies taking the students to his office but admits he did place tape over the student’s mouths.
“I told them, ‘I love you, but this has been going on all year and it has to stop immediately,’” Raymond says in the statement. “I wanted to give them another chance.” However, the students tell police that the tape was on their heads for about 45 minutes and they had trouble breathing. It was removed by another school administrator who “had become uncomfortable with the situation” and used scissors to cut it off, police say. The students said the removal of the tape was painful.the Washington Post
