Louth marched into their second successive Leinster final following a four-point win over Kildare at Croke Park today.
The Wee County that struck first this afternoon with midfielder Tommy Durnin opening the scoring inside five minutes. While Kildare were wasteful Louth were clinical. Mulroy, Grimes and Sharkey all scored in the next five minutes to give Louth the momentum and at half-time, Ger Brennan's side held a 0-10 to 0-6 lead.
But Durnin popped up at the death and kicked the final score of the day to secure the four-point win and a Leinster final berth - a third since 1957.A second butchered goal chance for Kildare. Louth got away with that one again. Crossed wires from Eoin Doyle and Daniel Flynn.Lennon in for a goal after good play from Keenan, but O'Callaghan's diving block saves a goal and the play ends up as a 45.Donegal impressed against Derry in their opening Ulster Championship fixture.
