'I'm not unhappy that Shake made it onto the show.'
The show's creator went on to say that he doesn't regret the decision for Shake to appear in the show, as a reflection of how things can go wrong in the real world, but he does regret the outcome for Deepti not finding love.
"Am I unhappy about it? No, I'm not unhappy about it. I'm certainly unhappy that Deepti didn't get the happy ending that she wanted there, but I think even talking to Deepti after the fact, she has felt she has grown tremendously through this experience as a person, and I'm really happy about that. I'm happy for her. I'm hoping that Shake will feel the same way at some point, if he doesn't already.
"Look, our duty as producers is to tell the real story – that's it... People have made comments like, 'Well, the producers would like this to happen'. Maybe we would, but we don't ever influence it – ever. We don't tell anybody what to say, how to feel, how to think."Sign up for Disney+
