Joey Essex may be a reality TV veteran but there are still some things that viewers may not know about the Love Island star
The 33-year-old Essex lad was revealed as a bombshell ready to stir things up in the Spanish villa at the end of the summer series launch episode.
Love Island isn't Joey's first experience of having his relationships documented on camera. He first fell in love with fellow TOWIE cast member Sam Faiers back in 2011, during the early days of the popular Essex-based show, and their romance played out on-screen for viewers to see, reports the Mirror.
In 2016, reality TV fans were ecstatic when Joey Essex from 'The Only Way is Essex' and Stephanie Pratt from 'Made in Chelsea' got together on 'Celebs Go Dating'. Their whirlwind romance, however, came to an end after just a month. Fast forward to 2018, and Joey Essex was back in the headlines with another reality star, Ellie Brown from 'Love Island' season four. Following her break up with Charlie Brake, Ellie and Joey were seen locking lips and soon made it Instagram official with yet another kiss.In a twist of fate, Joey and Ellie reunited on MTV's celebrity series of 'Ex On The Beach'.
In the heartfelt BBC documentary "Joey Essex: Grief and Me" aired in 2021, Joey spoke candidly about the profound impact his mother's death had on him, admitting that it took him nearly two decades to even utter the word 'Mum'. "It was only two or three years ago, I think I was 27, where I sort of just started to be able to say 'Mum'," he shared in the poignant film.
Joey Essex first graced our screens in 2011, joining his cousin Chloe Sims on the second series of The Only Way is Essex. Not only did he coin his catchphrase 'reem' on TOWIE until 2013, but Joey also had a stint in the jungle for the 13th series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
