Love Island's 2024 summer series is already in chaos as one star has been booted out of the villa just 24 hours after the show launched on ITV2 and saw Joey Essex enter as a shock bombshell
In scenes set to play out over the coming days, one Islander will find themselves kicked out of the show. A host of boys and girls - 12 in total - entered on the first day, with Joey Essex soon making an arrival as the first bombshell of the series.
Maya Jama was there to welcome the Islanders into the villa, with her revealing the first twist of the series. The contestants were asked to rank the opposite sex on who they thought was most boyfriend or girlfriend material, and who wasn't. It was then that Maya revealed they had coupled themselves up - with the most boyfriend material and most girlfriend material being paired together, and the least boyfriend and the least girlfriend material Islanders being coupled up too.
