Friends and loved ones gathered at a vigil Monday to support a grieving family who lost three siblings in a crash on the Northeast Side over the weekend.

Francis Flores, the victims’ cousin, identified them as Evelyn Flores Jasso, 22; Ivan Flores Jasso, 17; Julian Flores Jasso, 9.“Oraciones, porque es verdad que no hay palabras de consuelo,” she said in Spanish.Taylor Tucker, a neighbor who witnessed the crash, hoped to comfort the hurting parents. “Their children were not alone when they died. We were here with them, trying to help them. But there was nothing we could do until the jaws of life got here,” Tucker said, referring to other witnesses and first responders.
He said the fatal crash highlights a problem with a busy intersection that neighbors say needs slower traffic and speed limits.“The street in this area includes traffic calming islands that separate north and bound traffic.
